Ku was a female orca who was captured in Taiji, Japan on February 9, 1997. She died on September 19, 2008 from heart failure.

The Taiji Whaling Museum purchased Ku after her capture. She lived there with a female named Nami until she was moved to the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium on October 28, 2003. While Ku and Nami did not get along, she did very well with bottlenose dolphins and her trainers. Nagoya had hoped she would become pregnant through artificial insemination but she did not. In August 2008, Ku became ill and later passed away due to heart failure.
